Dear Lillian Maye:

I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you had a difficult end to Winter 2021 term, and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ARTH 391 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on??documentation provided which notes that you sought out counselling and I encourage you to continue to do so if needed. Going forward you will be responsible for managing the impact of your condition on your academics proactively and not after the fact via the appeal process. I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the drop deadline and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline. Please do not wait until you receive your grades and then request a drop for those that are failures.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration service. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to extenuating circumstances. Lillian, I strongly encourage you continue to work with a health professional and to proactively manage the impact of our condition on your academics.
