Dear Dorothy-Jean Evans:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop FRST 105 and FREN 106 (S19) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on your extenuating circumstances and the support that you have received from Student Wellness Services.

Due to the severity of your extenuating circumstances, I would also like to offer you late drops of SOCY 289 (F15), RELS 252 (W16) and Credit Standing in GNDS 440 (W15) and RELS 202 (W16). If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter.

Also, please know that a recommended strategy for raising a student??s cumulative GPA is by repeating failed courses or those with lower grades. When repeating the same course, both attempts will appear on the transcript but only the higher attempt is included within the cumulative GPA. I see that since you have returned to studies in 2019, you have been taking new courses instead of repeating previously attempted ones. I strongly suggest that you connect with the Faculty of Arts and Science Student Services Office at 613-533-2470 to book an appointment with an Academic Advisor to create an academic plan going forward.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
