Dear Mateo,

I have reversed my decision and granted the late add of MUSC 412 and 420 pending confirmation of your vaccination status. Please note that this is a very lenient decision and typically I would need documentation of why you failed to add these two courses, perhaps your most important courses, on time when you were able to add and drop other courses during this busy time. I also note that you are currently registered in a full time course load and therefore question the impact of adding two additional courses this late in the term has on your OSAP status.

I am granting this appeal because it is not fair to your cello teacher nor your ensemble-mates for you to withdraw from rehearsals at this late date. Normally you are expected to add courses on time or provide clear evidence of being unable to do so.

An additional concern is that you have been attending these in person courses and yet have not been audited for health and safety purposes because we do not assume students will participate in courses in which they are not registered. This breach affects not only our general liability but potentially the health and safety of the Dan School community.

Our staff will register you once they have confirmed your vaccination status. In the meantime you are not permitted to attend these classes. I am copying Prof. Renihan to ask that she please enforce this measure.

Sincerely,

Jill Atkinson
