I have carefully considered your appeal to drop DEVS 358, LLCU 249 (F20), DEVS 492, DEVS 306, GPHY 254, and DEVS 300 (W21) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:

1) To grant your request to drop DEVS 492, DEVS 306, GPHY 254, and DEVS 300 (W21) after the academic deadline as the documentation you provided confirms the impact of your extenuating circumstances on your Winter term classes. Although I am granting this part of your request, I need to warn you that the appeal process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition. An appeal based on the same circumstances may not be granted in the future.

2) To deny your request to drop DEVS 358 and LLCU 249 (F20). The documentation that you supplied indicates that the timeline of your extenuating circumstances began in January of 2021. With the absence of documentation from a professional to verify that your 2020 Fall classes were also impacted by your circumstances, I cannot grant this part of your request. Also, please know that taking more than the recommended number of courses per term is not grounds for an appeal. Going forward, you should pause to evaluate the impact of your health on your academics during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by the drop deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.
