Course: STAT 263
Term: Fall
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Tiger An:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop STAT 263 (F21) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I want you to know that choosing to take more than the recommended number of classes does not constitute sufficient grounds to appeal to retroactively drop a class after the deadline to drop. I have granted this appeal however, based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and because you have connected with the appropriate health care services and are engaged in treatment.

Going forward, I encourage you to evaluate your academic progress during Week 7 of the term and make sure to drop courses that you have fallen behind in, or in which you find the material too difficult, by the Week 8 drop deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Yours sincerely,

Amitava Chowdhury, Ph.D.
