I am sorry to read in your letter of appeal that you have experienced some health-related challenges this term. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BIOL 110 (F 2021) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have exercised some leniency in this decision, acknowledging the health issues you have been facing, but since you began to experience health issues well before the drop date, you should have assessed your progress by that deadline and dropped this course if you had fallen behind. Going forward you will be responsible for managing the impact of your challenges on your academics proactively and not after the fact via the appeal process. I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the drop deadline and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration service. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
