Dear Athena Wang:

I have carefully considered your appeal for Credit Standing in BIOM 300 and STAT 473 (W21). After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:

1. To grant your request for Credit Standing in BIOM 300 (W21) as the documentation that you supplied confirms that your extenuating circumstances impacted your academics during the week of exams. Your grade in this course will be replaced with a ?CR?? notation on your transcript.

2. To deny your request to receive Credit Standing in STAT 473 (W21). Academic Regulation 10.3.2. states that, Credit standing in a course is reserved for situations in which a student, who has completed all of the work in the course including the final examination, and achieved a passing grade in the course, but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, earned a substantially lower grade than might have been expected.? I am sure this is a disappointing decision but the information we received from your instructor indicates that you were accommodated appropriately when you requested that the weight of Assignment 2 be included within the final exam. As you didn??t end up completing all components of this class, including the final exam, you are not eligible to receive Credit Standing in it. I understand that this is a disappointing decision but let me also remind you that if a student repeats a course, both grades will appear on their transcript but only the higher grade will be included within their cumulative GPA.
