I was sorry to read that you experienced difficult challenges during Summer term. Based on your letter and your documentation, I will grant your appeal to drop ARTH 232 and POLS 211 (S 2021) past the academic deadline.
Keelee, I am pleased to see that you participated in the PEGaSUS Support group related to your trauma and that you continue to seek out supports related to that very difficult circumstance. I encourage you to continue to work with your health professionals and if ongoing accommodation is needed in the future, you may want to register with QSAS. A QSAS Advisor can offer support for both your health and academics. Going forward, I suggest that you to carefully evaluate your progress in your courses prior to week 7 and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop deadline.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date is our Academic Consideration service. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
