I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you have had a difficult term and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BIOL 330 (F 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this appeal based on??documentation provided and your plan to continue to work with the health professionals that you have reached out to regarding your challenges. Going forward you will be responsible for managing the impact of your condition on your academics proactively and not after the fact via the appeal process. I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses with your QSAS Advisor prior to the drop deadline, and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline. Please do not wait until you receive your grades and then request a drop for those that are failures.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
