Dear Meghan Bouvier:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GPHY 305, GPHY 312 (Winter 2021), GPHY 250, and GPHY 319 (Summer 2021)??after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request which will also remove Faculty ruling that you be Required to Withdraw for Three Years. You may now resume your studies at Queen's University.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and your strong academic plan. Going forward, I suggest that you continue to work with your healthcare team to help you manage the impact of your health on your academics and that you utilize academic supports such as advising and Academic Consideration if needed.

I also suggest that you evaluate your academic progress during week 7 of the term and make sure to drop courses that you have fallen behind in or find the material too difficult in by week 8 of the term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your continued studies.

Yours sincerely,

Jill Atkinson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
