Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Course: HIST 305
Term: Fall/Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Macy Briand:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop DEVS 105 (W21) and HIST 305 (FW 2020/2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
Your final grade in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.
I acknowledge that you took the advice of your health care provider by reducing your course load and I have granted this appeal due to the continued impact that your circumstances had on your academic ability in these courses. Although I have granted this academic appeal, I need to warn you that the appeal process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition. An appeal based on the same circumstances may not be granted in the future. Going forward, I suggest that you carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course before the week 8 deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
