I have carefully considered your appeal to return to your studies after having completed the Required to Withdraw for a Minimum of Three Years? timeframe. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. You may resume your studies at Queen's University beginning the Summer term 2022.
Meaghan, since you attended another post-secondary institution while you were Required to Withdraw and completed more than 18.0 units, you will need to re-apply for admission. Please note that no portion of the courses completed will be transferrable since you completed those courses during the three-year withdrawal period (Fall 2001 ?? Winter 2004) from Fall 2002 to Winter 2004.
Submitting this appeal was necessary however Meaghan because the Faculty of Arts and Science did have to approve your eligibility to return to Queens.
Meaghan, I think it would be helpful for you to speak with someone from our Transfer team in the Office of Admissions. The email address for that office is transfer@queensu.ca Also, for your information, here is a link regarding transferring as an upper year transfer student:

Once you are re-admitted, please make note that Academic Regulation 13 currently states that at the end of each Winter Term in which a student has attempted 18.0 or more units since the time of their previous assessment, that student is assessed for academic progression. If, at the time of this assessment, the GPA is below 1.60 an academic sanction is triggered. In your case, since you have a previous requirement to withdraw on your record, that sanction would be a requirement to withdraw for a further three years. I strongly suggest that you speak with an academic advisor who can make helpful suggestions as to how you can improve your GPA to meet the required 1.6 GPA threshold. You may wish to seek assistance regarding the selection of your Degree Plan requirements as well.
Upon your re-admission, I encourage you to take advantage of the many services available including our Student Academic Success Services (SASS). They provide a range of services, including workshops designed to improve study skills and develop strategies for meeting the demands of academic life. Student Wellness Services is also available to students and offers personal and academic counselling free of charge as well as individual consultation to aid in coping with difficulties of a more personal nature.
In returning to a regular course of study, I would encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the drop deadline and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
