I have carefully considered your appeal request to drop CHEM 281 (F08), ENGL 110 (FW 2008/2009), BIOL 319, BIOL 322 (W10), BIOL 303, BIOL 341, MBIO 218 (W11), BIOL 330, BIOL 335, BIOL 439 (F11), BIOL 303, BIOL 341, BIOL 535 (W12), BIOL 319 (S12), BIOL 330 (F12), BIOL 315, BIOL 322, BIOL 331, BIOL 341 (W13), BIOL 330 (S13), BIOL 315 (F14), BIOL 316, BIOL 508, ECON 223 and ECON 243 (W15).
I acknowledge the difficulty that you had with submitting this appeal request and I want to commend you for being able to work through the circumstances and health issues that you reported in your appeal letter. I want you to know that the presence of a chronic condition does not warrant revisiting an entire undergraduate career so long after the fact to remove all of the failures. This is because it difficult for the decision maker to know which courses were affected by the extenuating circumstances and which were failed due to poor working habits or course difficulty. After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:
To grant your request to drop BIOL 303, BIOL 341, MBIO 218 (Winter 2011), BIOL 335, BIOL 439 (Fall 2011), BIOL 303, BIOL 341, BIOL 535 (Winter 2012), BIOL 319 (Summer 2012), BIOL 315, BIOL 322, BIOL 331, BIOL 341 (Winter 2013), BIOL 315 (F14), BIOL 316, BIOL 508, ECON 223 and ECON 243 (Winter 2015) because there is a pattern to suggest that these courses were impacted by extenuating circumstances.
To deny your request to drop CHEM 281 (F08), ENGL 110 (FW 2008/2009), BIOL 319 and BIOL 322 (W10) as I see that you were able to successfully complete other courses during these terms despite being impacted with your reported extenuating circumstances.
To deny your request to drop BIOL 330 (F11), BIOL 330 (F12) and BIOL 330 (S13) as you had successfully completed this course during the 2009 Fall term and these attempts are not being included within the calculation of your cumulative GPA.
