I have carefully considered your appeal for Aegrotat Standing in ENGL 223 (F21). After reviewing your file, I have decided to deny your request.
I understand that this is a disappointing decision however Aegrotat standing is reserved for situations in which a student has completed enough work in a course to be issued an estimated grade yet but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond his or her control, is unable to complete the outstanding work. The information that I received from your instructor indicates that although you did complete 75% of the work in the course, you did not meet the learning outcomes with the work that you completed.
As the documentation that you supplied within your appeal request confirms the impact of extenuating circumstances on your academic ability during the 2021 Fall term, I am willing to allow you to drop ENGL 223 (F21). If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter and we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.
