Dear Luka Mihajlovic:

I have carefully considered your request to drop HIST 104 (F20), HIST 105 (W21), ENGL 100, PHIL 111, PSYC 100 and SOCY 122 (FW 20/21) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request which will also remove Faculty ruling that you be Required to Withdraw for One Year?.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and the impacts that they had on your classes during the 2020/2021 academic year. I acknowledge that this was your first year at Queen??s and I want to commend you on the steps that you have taken by connecting with health care professionals and engaging in treatment.

Upon your return to studies, I suggest that you consider registering with Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) so that you can work with a counsellor to help you best manage the impact of your health on your academics. I also suggest that you evaluate your academic progress during week 7 of the term and make sure to drop courses that you have fallen behind in or find the material too difficult in by week 8 of the term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
