I was sorry to read of the challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal, and I have reviewed your request to change the grade you received in CHEE 342 (F 2021) to Aegrotat standing based on those circumstances. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information I have received from the instructor, I have decided to grant your appeal.
The instructor has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed and your grade in CHEE 342 (F 2021) will appear on your transcript as B along with the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.
I encourage you to continue to seek support from your health care team. Should you take additional courses from Queen??s University, I suggest that you evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses, if necessary, at that time.
Another tool available at Queen??s to manage your academics, in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline, is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
