Dear Jack Wilson:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop DEVS 300, DEVS 356, DEVS 393, ENSC 290 (F21) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I recognize that you had not sought support until after the drop deadline of the 2021 Fall term and I have granted your appeal due to the severity of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed by your health care provider within your supporting documentation. Going forward, I suggest that you evaluate your academic progress during week 7 of the term and make sure to drop courses that you have fallen behind in or find the material too difficult in by week 8 of the term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I would also suggest that you consider registering with Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you have not done so already, so that you obtain ongoing support from a Counsellor who can help manage the impact of your health on your academics.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
