Dear Molly:

I was sorry to read of the difficult circumstance you outlined and I am sorry for your loss. I have reviewed your appeal for Aegrotat standing in DEVS 100 (FW 2021/22) and after careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information I have received from the instructors, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructors have submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed and your grade in DEVS 100 will appear on your transcript as A- along with the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.

I understand that you have been working with the instructors in the balance of your Winter term courses so you can complete your course work in those courses and I hope that the granting of this appeal allows you the time needed to focus on those remaining courses.

Molly, please feel free to reach out to Student Wellness Services at Mitchell Hall if you wish to meet with a counsellor who may be able to help you manage your grief.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck with the balance of your courses.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
