Dear Ms. Cai:

I have carefully considered your appeal to receive Aegrotat standing in PHAR 100 and PSYC 100B (W 2015). After reviewing your file I will grant your request for AG in PHAR 100 but I must unfortunately deny your request for an AG grade in PSYC 100. Your grade in PHAR 100 will appear on your transcript as A along with the notation €œAegrotat: Estimated Grade€.

While your appeal does certainly describe some circumstances that are extenuating in nature and there is supporting documentation to confirm them, your instructor has confirmed that you have not completed enough evaluative work in PSYC 100 to demonstrate that you have mastered the course material. PSYC 100 is designed in such a way that students must write and pass the final exam in order to determine whether or not they should credit for the course. For this reason, I unfortunately cannot grant your request.

However, given your circumstances I would be willing to allow you to either drop PSYC 100 past the academic deadline or allow you to have an incomplete grade so you can write a deferred exam. If you wish to accept either of these options, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this decision letter to confirm your request. Once it has been received we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.

If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, you must submit an appeal to the Board of Studies within 21 days of the date this decision was sent.
