I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you are having a difficult time this term and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop STAT 263 (W 2022) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this appeal based on your circumstances and the??documentation provided which is a concern Hoang. In your previous appeal (8834) you mentioned that you are seeing a doctor and psychiatrist as well as a counsellor every week through the university's mental health services and I strongly encourage you to reach out to contact these support services for assistance at this time.
Hoang, as mentioned in your previous appeal decision letter, you should attempt to manage the impact of your condition on your academic proactively and not after the fact via the appeal process and to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the week 8 drop deadline. If you have fallen behind or you are not performing in courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
