I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ANAT 309 and MICR 360 (F21) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal due to the timeline and severity of your extenuating circumstances Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a ?DR?? notation on your transcript.

Going forward, I would suggest that you connect with Student Wellness Services (SWS) in Mitchel Hall for ongoing personal support. You can connect with SWS at https://www.queensu.ca/studentwellness/.

As I acknowledge the impacts of your extenuating circumstances during the 2021 Fall term, I will also allow you Credit Standing in REPD 372 (F21). Academic Regulation 10.3.2. states that, Credit standing in a course is reserved for situations in which a student, who has completed all of the work in the course including the final examination, and achieved a passing grade in the course, but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, earned a substantially lower grade than might have been expected, normally a grade of C or lower.? I also see that you are enrolled in 12.0 units of courses during the upcoming 2022 Summer term. Please know that 6.0 units of courses during the Summer term is considered to be a full-time course load as these courses are condensed and fast-paced. Taking more than the recommended number of courses is not typically considered grounds for an appeal and so I would suggest that you consider reducing that course load accordingly.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
