Dear Jasmine,

I have carefully considered your appeal to Drop (DR) PHIL 347, PHIL 328, PHIL 318, PHIL 204, ANAT 100 (Fall 2019) & Receive Credit (CR) Standing in CLST 130. Given the strong and clear support from Student Wellness Services who asserts that you missed the drop date in Fall 2019 due to extenuating circumstances, I am compelled to grant this appeal.

Going forward, I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the week 8 drop deadline and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Here is the link for information about that process:

Your transcript will be updated to reflect the dropped and credit standing courses.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
