I have carefully considered your appeal to drop MICR 270, PHGY 215, PHGY 216 and PSYC 271 (W22) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal due to the timeline and severity of your circumstances as confirmed by the documentation that you had supplied. I acknowledge that you were unable to complete your Winter term classes due to the ongoing impacts of your extenuating circumstances and was glad to read that you had connected with QSAS near the end of the term. Going forward, I suggest that you remain connected with your QSAS advisor who can help manage the impact of your health on your academics.

I also see that you are enrolled in 9.0 units of courses during the Summer term. Please know that these courses are condensed and fast-paced and that 6.0 units during the Summer is considered to be a full-time course load. Taking more than the recommended number of courses is not typically considered grounds for an appeal so I want to remind you to pause to evaluate your academic progress before the drop deadline of the term and be sure to drop courses that you have fallen behind in or find the material too difficult in. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
