Dear Tyler,

I am sorry to have read in your appeal letter the challenges you experienced during Winter term 2022 due to COVID19 and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in SOCY 211 (W 2022) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructor about the learning outcomes achieved in this course, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grade in SOCY 211 (W 2022) will appear on your transcript as CR.

Going forward, a good practise for all students is to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the drop deadline and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in a course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration service. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Here is the link for information about that process:

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
