I am sorry to have read in your appeal letter the circumstances outlined and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in MATH 211 (FW 2021/22) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the circumstances outlined and the documentation submitted as well as the information supplied by the instructors about the learning outcomes achieved in this course, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grade in MATH 211 will appear on your transcript as CR.

Emma, I do need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing challenges. Instead, students are responsible for managing the impact of their circumstances on their academics proactively and not after the fact via the appeal process. I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to week 7 and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop deadline.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date is our Academic Consideration service. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
