I have carefully considered your appeal to Appealing to drop PSYC 271 and BIOL 102 (F21) after the academic deadline and for Credit Standing in RELS 252 (F21), BIOL 200, BIOL 103, HIST 241 and PSYC 241 (W22). After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:

To grant your request to drop PSYC 271 and BIOL 102 after the academic deadline and for Credit Standing in RELS 252 (F21). I have granted this request as the documentation that you supplied confirms that you had not begun to receive support for your extenuating circumstances at that time.

To deny your request for Credit Standing in BIOL 200, BIOL 103, HIST 241 and PSYC 241 (W22). Academic Regulation 10.3.2. states that, Credit standing in a course is reserved for situations in which a student, who has completed and passed all of the work of the course including the final examination, but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, earned a substantially lower grade than might have been expected, normally a grade of C or lower?.

I am sympathetic to your situation and understand that this is a difficult decision however, your appeal letter indicates that you were aware of the impacts from your extenuating circumstances during the 2022 Winter term and the documentation that you supplied confirms that you were connected with professional supports at that time. It was your responsibility to utilize academic options such as academic consideration or dropped these courses before the academic deadline. Going forward, I suggest that you carefully evaluate your academic progress during Week 7 of each term and make sure to drop courses that you have fallen behind in, or in which you find the material too difficult, by the Week 8 drop deadline.
