Your request to apply for more than 6.0 units on an International Letter of Permission during the 2022/2023 Academic Year has been approved on behalf of the Associate Dean (Academic).
As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that ??normally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen??s.? However, after reviewing your file and the support that you??ve received from your Department, we will allow you to take up to 9.0 units of courses in the 2022 Fall term and up to 6.0 units in the 2023 Winter term at Athabasca University.
We want to remind you that students can take a maximum of 18.0 units per term including courses enrolled in at other schools. Please know that 18.0 units per term is a very heavy course load. If you find that this is more than you can handle, please be sure to drop courses by the published deadlines. Choosing to take more than the recommended number of units per term does not constitute sufficient grounds to appeal to retroactively drop a class after the deadline.
You may now apply for a Letter of Permission through SOLUS.
Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the International Programs office upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
Finally, please be advised that you are allowed to transfer a maximum of 57.0 units of courses toward your Bachelor of Computing Honours degree (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3) and transfer a maximum of one-half less 6.0 units of courses of the total units required for your COMA Specialization Plan.
