Dear Sophie Keith-Brown:
Your request to apply for more than 6.0 units on an International Letter of Permission during the 2023 Winter term has been approved on behalf of the Associate Dean (Academic).
As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that ??normally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen??s.? However, after reviewing your file and the support that you??ve received from your department, we will allow you to take courses on an International Letter of Permission for the Semester at Sea program during the 2023 Winter term. Please know that students can take a maximum of 18.0 units per term including those enrolled in at another University.
You may now apply for an International Letter of Permission through the International Programs Office. We would strongly suggest that you remain closely connected with this office so that you can be made aware of potential disruptions to your international studies if they shall happen.
Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the International Programs office upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
Finally, please be advised that you are allowed to complete a maximum of 57.0 transfer units toward your BA Honours degree program (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3) and a maximum of 24.0 transfer units toward your HIST Major and a maximum of 12.0 transfer units toward your LISC Minor.
We wish you well in your international studies.
On behalf of
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
