Dear Bart:

I am sorry to read that you struggled to manage this course along with challenges related to your family and COVID19. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop DEVS 250 (S 2022) past the academic deadline and receive credit standing in PSYC 397 (S 2022) and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Your grade in PSYC 397 will appeal on your transcript as CR.

I have exercised some leniency in this decision, acknowledging the challenges you have outlined, but going forward you will be responsible for managing the impact of your challenges on your academics proactively and not after the fact via the appeal process. I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the drop deadline and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration service. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
