I am sorry to have read in your petition letter the circumstances outlined, and I have carefully considered your request to drop KNPE 491 (F 2022) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this petition based on the??documentation provided which notes you have experienced a flare up of a pre-existing condition after the drop deadline.
Going forward, a good practice for all students is to pause and assess their progress in courses prior to the week 8 drop deadline, and if your health is impacting that progress, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Jasmine, I strongly encourage you to continue to work with your health care team including your QSAS??Advisor??who can put into place additional accommodations, if necessary, to help you manage the impact of your health on your academics.??

Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
