Dear Bryce:

I am sorry to have read in your petition letter of the health-related challenges you experienced during Fall term 2022. I have carefully considered your request to drop ASTR 101, ASTR 102 and FILM 340 (F 2022) past the academic deadline due to the circumstances outlined, and after reviewing your file and documentation, I have decided to grant your request.

I am pleased to see that you are taking time away from your studies and focusing on your health. When you return to Queen??s, I encourage you to pause and carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the week 8 drop deadline. If you have fallen behind or you are not performing in courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
