I was very sorry to read in your petition letter the challenges you outlined and I have carefully considered your request to drop SOCY 235, HIST 267, HIST 254 (W 2021); SOCY 389, HIST 401, HIST 400, HIST 283, HIST 242 (W 2022); HIST 337, HIST 260 (S 2022); SOCY 284, EMPR 230, HIST 473, HIST 401, HIST 246 (F 2022) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this petition based on the circumstances outlined as well as your documentation. I was pleased to read that your medications are now inline with your needs and that you are working closely with a support network including a counsellor and QSAS.

Going forward, you should carefully assess your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline. The appeal process is not designed to manage a chronic condition and no further petitions will be granted based on the circumstances you have presented in this petition.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
