Decision Date: February 13, 2023

Student Name: Makayla Kelly
Student Email: makayla.kelly@queensu.ca
Dear Makayla:
I have reviewed your request to complete more than 6.0 units on a Letter of Permission for your Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree with a Major concentration in Geology. As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that ??normally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen??s.? However, given the circumstances explained in your petition letter, and the support of the Geology Department, I agree to this request. Please consult with your department regularly to ensure that the courses you select will properly fulfill the Queen??s requirements for your degree.
You must now apply for a Letter of Permission. Here is the website which provides the link where you submit your Letter of Permission application on SOLUS. Course Planning & Options Queen's University Faculty of Arts and Science (queensu.ca)
Please allow up to 15 business days to receive a response.
Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the Faculty of Arts and Science office upon completion of the courses so they can facilitate the transfer of those courses to Queen??s. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
Finally, please be advised that a student can complete a maximum of 57.0 transfer units towards their BSc Honours degree (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3).
I wish you well in your future studies.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
