Course: GNDS125
Term: Fall
Year: 2022
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Jianxiao,

I have reviewed your petition to drop GNDS 125 (F22) after the academic deadline and I have decided to grant your request.

I acknowledge that you were not able to complete this course during the 2022 Fall term due to the impacts of your extenuating circumstances and I commend you for utilizing Academic Consideration and attempting to catch-up once you were able to. I have granted this request as per the support that you received from your instructor who confirmed that it would not be possible to complete the course at this late time due to the amount of work that is outstanding. Going forward, I suggest that you pause to evaluate the impact of your health on your classes during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
