Course: DRAM240
Term: Fall
Year: 2022
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Elise:

I am sorry to have read in your petition letter your health-related challenges, and I have carefully considered your request to drop DRAM 240 (F 2022) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Going forward, I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the week 8 drop deadline and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in courses to your satisfaction, you should drop them by the drop deadline. I understand that you did attempt to drop the course, but it is a student??s responsibility to reach out to the appropriate offices to ensure that process is completed if you do run into issues with SOLUS in the future.

Elise, I strongly encourage you continue to work with a health professional and your QSAS Advisor to proactively manage the impact of your condition on your academics if it continues to impact your studies.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your current courses.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
