Course: CISC 203
Term: Winter
Year: 2023
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Esther:

I am sorry to have read in your petition letter that you struggled in CISC 203 (W 2023) due the difficulties you were facing, and I have carefully considered your request to drop that course past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this petition based on your extenuating circumstances and the??documentation provided, and I encourage you to continue to reach out for support should your challenges continue so you can get your academics and health back on track.

Going forward, you will be responsible for managing the impact of your condition on your academics proactively and not after the fact via the petition process. I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
