Dear Brooke Cudahy:

I have carefully considered your appeal for Aegrotat Standing in ENGL 200 (FW22/23), ANAT 100, BIOL 102, and PHGY 170 (W23). After reviewing your file, I have decided to deny your request.

I acknowledge that you were impacted by the unexpected extenuating circumstance during the 2023 Winter term as confirmed by the documentation that you supplied however your petition did not demonstrate that you couldn??t complete these course requirements during the 2023 Summer term where I see that you are enrolled in 6.0 units of new courses.

As you know, Academic Appeal and Petition Regulation 3.3.1.3. states that, Aegrotat standing is reserved for a course in which a student who, because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, is unable to complete all the work of the class?A student with extenuating circumstances who may be able to complete the remaining work in a class should consider a petition to extend the deadline to submit incomplete work or complete a deferred exam instead.?

I am sympathetic to your situation and I understand that this is a disappointing decision however, I will allow you to complete these courses during the 2023 Summer term with a deadline of August 31. Your instructor of ANAT 100 (W23) will allow you to complete the Block Theory 3 and Practical 2 components and your instructors of BIOL 102 and PHGY 170 (W23) will allow you an opportunity to write the final exams. It is your responsibility to connect with these instructors directly to make the arrangements. In regards to the outstanding final exam in ENGL 200 (FW22/23), please connect with the Department of English at ugrad.english@queensu.ca to make the arrangements.
