I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PHYS 117B (W 2015) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I would like to note that I am granting this appeal solely on the fact that you have been actively trying to manage your depression but you have not been able to find an effective medication since the time this course too place. I would recommend that you consider pursuing a lighter course load or taking time away from your studies until you are able to resolve your current medical challenges and your condition stabilizes. If you do choose to resume your studies, please ensure that you monitor your progress very carefully and if you feel that you are falling behind you should drop any courses, as needed, within the academic deadlines.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page.
