Dear Anshul,

As part of the standard process when appealing to the Board of Studies, the Associate Dean (Academic) reviews your appeal submission. I have carefully considered your appeal to waive the 21-day petition deadline. I am glad to see that this petition is now supported by documentation. The newly provided documents speak to the impact to your winter 2023 courses.
I have decided therefore to allow you to late drop MATH 212 and MATH 225 (winter 2023).
Going forward, I recommend that you pause and evaluate your courses before the drop deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students at Queen's.

Other tools to help you manage your academics include connecting with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) and using our Academic Consideration protocol. You can learn more about QSAS and book an appointment with an Advisor at:
https://www.queensu.ca/studentwellness/accessibility-services.
A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. For information about that consideration process see:
https://www.queensu.ca/artsci/undergrad-students/academic-consideration-for-students.

Please allow 7-10 days for your transcript to be updated.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
