Dear Maeve,

I have reviewed your request to Waive the Petition Deadline related to 2021 Fall, 2022 Winter and 2022 Summer terms as well as your request to drop ANAT 100, AST 102, DRAM 205 (F22), ASTR 101, DEVS 221, HLTH 101 (W23), HIST 124 and RELS 131 (FW22/23) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant these requests and I will allow you to drop EMPR 220, HLTH 101 (F21), CLST 214, ENSC 320, GPHY 319 (W22), CISC 121, WRIT 120 (S22) without having to submit a subsequent petition.

I have granted these requests as the documentation you supplied confirms the severity and academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances from Dec 2018 – August 2023. Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
