Dear Lily,

I have reviewed your request to waive the petition deadline related to the 2018 Fall, 2019 Winter, and 2019 Fall terms. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I will also allow you Credit Standing in GEOL 107, CLST 130 (F18), GEOL 104 (W19), PHIL 115 (FW18/19), HIST 121 (FW 18/19) and POLS 211 (F19) and to drop GEOL 106 (W19) and LAW 201 (F19) after the academic deadline. Your grades in these courses will be changed to DR and CR notations accordingly.

I have granted this request due to the academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
