Dear Matan,

I have reviewed your petition to drop MATH 212, MATH 281, PHYS 239 and STAT 269 (W23) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

I acknowledge that you took the 2023 Fall term away from your studies and are currently repeating some courses from your 2023 Winter term. I have granted this petition due to the timeline and academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the petition letter.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I would also suggest that you consider registering with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you have not done so already, so that you obtain ongoing support from a Counsellor who can help manage the ongoing impacts of your health on your academics.
