Dear Allyson,

I have carefully considered your petition to drop DR RELS 250, POLS 457, POLS 466 (F22), POLS 383, LLCU 213 (W23), and POLS 327 (S23) after the academic deadline and for Credit Standing in POLS 471 (W23) and POLS 402 (S23). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR or CR notation on your transcript accordingly.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I would also suggest that you remain connected with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) for ongoing support from your Counsellor who can help manage the ongoing impacts of your health on your academics.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
