I have carefully considered your petition to drop POLS 396 (W23) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grade in this course will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and severity of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. I will also allow you to drop POLS 285 (W23) after the academic deadline as I acknowledge that this course was also impacted by these circumstances.

Please know that you can obtain personal support from Student Wellness Services (SWS). Information about their services and how to book an appointment can be found on their website at queensu.ca/studentwellness/contact.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term.
