Dear Matthew:

I have carefully considered your petition for Credit Standing in STAT 263 (F 2023) and a late Drop in ECON 255 (F 2023). After reviewing your file and the information that I received from the instructor of STAT 263, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grade in STAT 263 will be replaced with a CR notation on your transcript and a DR notation will replace the current F grade in ECON 255.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied.

Going forward you should know that it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
