Dear Alex Susilo:

I have reviewed your petition to apply for more than 6.0 units on a Letter of Permission during the 2024/2025 academic year. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. You may now apply for a Letter of Permission through SOLUS.

As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s. However, due to the ongoing extenuating circumstances that you are experiencing, as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied, I will allow you to take up to 12.0 units of computing courses at Carleton University during the 2024/2025 academic year.

Also, please know that students are allowed to enrol in a maximum of 18.0 units per term including courses taken at other institutions. Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the Faculty of Arts and Science Student Services office upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
Finally, please be advised that you are allowed to complete a maximum of 57.0 transfer units toward your Bachelor of Computing Honours program (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3) with a maximum of one less 6.0 units of the total required for your Computing Specialization plan.

I wish you well in your studies next year,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
