Dear Kya:
I have carefully considered your petition to drop BLCK 200 and EMPR 210 (F23) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this request due to the timeline and severity of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.
Upon your return to studies, I would suggest that you remain connected with your QSASS Accessibility Advisor who can help manage the ongoing impacts of your health on your academics.
Also, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
