I have carefully considered your petition to drop MATH 121 (FW22/23), BIOL 103 (W23), PHYS 117 (S23), BCHM 102, HLTH 230 and MUSC 271 (F23) after the academic deadline and for Credit Standing in BCHM 218 (S23). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR and CR notation on your transcript accordingly.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and severity of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. Going forward, I would suggest that you remain connected with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) so that you obtain ongoing support from an Accessibility Advisor who can help manage the ongoing impacts of your health on your academics.

Also, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
