I have carefully considered your request to waive the petition deadline related to the 2022 Winter, 2022 Summer, 2022 Fall, and 2023 Winter terms and your request to drop BIOL 110 (F23) and GEOL 400 (W24) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I will also allow you to drop PHYS 118 (S21), PHYS 118 (S22), BIOL 110 (F22) and GEOL 368 (W23) after the academic deadline and Credit Standing in GEOL 333, GEOL 362 and PHYS 116 (W22) without having to submit a subsequent petition request. I have granted this request due to the timeline, severity and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed by the documentation you supplied.
Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR or CR notation on your transcript accordingly.
Upon your return to studies I want you to know that it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
