I was sorry to read about the passing of your family members and I want to offer my condolences. I have carefully considered your request for an Extension of an Incomplete Grade in PSYC 397 (S24). After reviewing your file and the information supplied by the instructors of the courses, I have decided to grant your request with the following conditions:
I was sorry to read about the multiple extenuating circumstances that you had experienced during the 2024 Summer term as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. I want you to know that the instructor of PSYC 397 (S24) is not available to facilitate a deferred final exam for you during the current 2024 Fall term and so I can only allow you the opportunity to complete this outstanding component in-person, at Queen’s University. The Department of Psychology has graciously offered to facilitate this in-person exam on one of two specific dates: November 9 or November 16. If you would like to accept this offer, please email the Undergraduate Chair of Psychology, Dr. Norris at Meghan.norris@queensu.ca to make the arrangements.
Alternately, as the instructor of the course has confirmed that your final achieved grade in the course, based on the work that was completed, was 49.5%, I can allow you to drop PSYC 397 (S24) past the academic deadline instead. If you choose to accept this alternate offer, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca prior to November 9, 2024.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
